Your next step is to attend one of our rehearsals to see if our choir is a good fit for you. (See NVC Calendar for specific dates and times.) We rehearsal at the Phoenix Boys Choir. Enter the parking lot from 11th Place, south off Missouri Ave, just west of 12th St. (Do not use the old entrance nearest to 12th St as it is now exit only.) Park in any open space, except Disabled Parking, unless applicable.
After entering the building, the rehearsal room is to the left. Pick up loaner music for the rehearsal at the check in table. (Don’t forget to return the music as you leave.)
After attending a rehearsal, if you’re interested in joining, schedule a time to sing for our Artistic Director, Eleanor Johnson. (Just a few scales to determine your vocal range and a few minutes of a song or two.) This is typically 5-10 minutes before or after a rehearsal.
Two final pieces of important information: 1) NVC has traditionally been a “no audition” choir. However, our current Soprano section outnumbers our Bass and Tenor sections combined. As such, we are not be able to accomodate all interested sopranos at this time. 2) Note that Member Dues are $200/year (payment plans available if needed) and you will likely have wardrobe expenses.
