Below is a timeline with important instructions for the National Anthem singing before the Sat Sept 28 D-Backs vs. Padres game at Chase Field. Music is attached and practice links for all parts below.
Performance Timeline:
Singers call time to rehearsal area is 3:30 pm. Mark Wallace is our lead. Text Mark if questions at 602.509.2443.
3:00 pm: Gates to Chase Field Open at this time.
3:15 pm: All anthem singers should plan to be at Chase Field at this time. Upon arrival, please enter the ballpark through any one of the Chase Field entry gates to get their tickets scanned and bags checked. All performers must do this before going to the rehearsal area, so please give yourself plenty of time to do so.
3:30 pm: All anthem singers should proceed to the rehearsal area located outside Gate J on the east side of the ballpark (near sections 110-111), under the 7th street bridge. Upon exit, all performers should get in their zone based on their part in the performance: Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. As long as you remain in the corral, you are considered “in the ballpark” and do not need to scan back in/out. PERFORMERS ONLY – all other guests go to seats.
*** Leaders, please begin lining up participants in a semi-circle for the rehearsal. Each zone should be arranged in riser-style rows of 4, with the shortest in the front, tallest in the back. We recommend practicing this formation ahead of time. See Field Diagram below. ***
Zone 1: Soprano
Zone 2: Alto
Zone 3: Tenor
Zone 4: Bass
3:50 pm: All choir group leaders should meet at the front of the rehearsal area to go over basic performance details.
3:55 pm: A pre-game rehearsal will begin, led by Troy Meeker (Artistic & Executive Director, Phoenix Children’s Chorus). This will be outside. All participants should bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. A water station will also be provided.
4:15 pm: Performers will prepare to go down to the field. Please remain in your rows of 4, DO NOT form a single file line. From there, all performers will be directed onto the field by D-backs representatives. If you are not in your designated area at this time, you will be unable to participate.
Approximately 4:57 pm: The performance will begin on the warning-track in center field. Once the performance is over: all groups must quickly exit the field and head back to your seats. Zones 1 and 2 will exit via Left Field. Zones 3 and 4 will exit via Right Field.
Upon exit, please keep moving all the way up the stairs, then go to your seats. We cannot congregate on the stairs or main concourse.
Performance Notes and Decorum:

- With the large number of performers, we will need the help of all choir group leaders to maintain etiquette during the rehearsal and performance. Talking should be limited during the rehearsal and on the field prior to the performance.
- AFTER THE ANTHEM:
- Below is an image of how we will exit the field after the performance. Zones 1 and 2 will exit via Left Field, Zones 3 and 4 will exit via Right Field. There will not be any actual lines or arrows on the field, but D-backs staff will be leading each zone grouping off the field. When we exit the field, everyone must keep moving all the way up the stairs then go to your seats. We cannot gather or congregate on the stairs or main concourse. We will need to rely on teachers/chaperones here to assist students with getting to their seats. It is HIGHLY encouraged that parents remain in their seats and that students/chaperones know where their seats are located beforehand. Attached is a map with Section Numbers so you can locate those beforehand.
